RSS Feeds

Embedding an RSS feed offers a unique opportunity to display fresh content on your website. Displaying feeds from related relevant sources can generate interest, increase traffic and improve search engine ranking. The Campus News Block is an example of an RSS feed block.

Embed a RSS feed on your site:

You will need the RSS feed URL from the site you wish to display the feed from.

Contact the Web Support team and they will assist in setting up the feed for you.

Create Aggregator (RSS Feed) Block

  1. Navigate to the page you'd like to update, and enter the Edit mode for the page.
  2. Click on the Layout tab.
  3. Choose the Section you would like to add the text block.
  4. Click on Add Block in that section.
  5. In the Configuration Sidebar, Type "aggregator" in the filter by block name field and select Aggregator Feed or scroll to the Lists section and select Aggregator Feed .

Configure Aggregator Block

  1. Title: (required): this displays above the search field and search button.
  2. Display title: by default the title is set to display, toggle off to remove block title.
  3. Select Feed: use the drop down to select the feed to display.
  4. Number of news items to display: use the drop down to select the number of news items to display.

Save Block

  1. Click Add Block.
  2. Click Save layout.
