Don't Forget the Summary

Proper use of the summary fields on your website pages is important! The contents of this field are used when the page is displayed in search results and when the page is shared on platforms such as Facebook or Microsoft Teams.

The summary is usually populated with a trimmed version of the contents of the body field, however,

it's easy to miss, especially on basic pages where other content blocks may be used instead of the body field. This is most likely to happen on your site's homepage. If you did not use the body field, your homepage may still contain the default content which is now being used as the summary and description for your site:

It's also important to review this field from time to time to make sure its contents are accurate and up to date.

You can access the summary field by editing a page and pressing the "edit summary" link to reveal the field.
