Newsletter MJML Template
The old HTML newsletter template will be phased out in a future release. During this time it will not receive any future updates. Please provide any feedback on the MJML template to websupport@colorado.edu.
The email newsletter now offers a MJML template. MJML (Mailjet Markup Language) is an open-source markup language and framework to make responsive email development fast and consistent across different email clients.
The problem
Writing raw HTML and CSS for emails is notoriously difficult because email clients (like Outlook, Gmail, and Apple Mail) use outdated rendering engines and rely heavily on complex, nested <table> tags instead of modern CSS layouts.
The solution
MJML acts as an abstraction layer and transpiler, using clean, high-level, semantic tags, and the MJML engine automatically compiles them into responsive, client-safe HTML.
New Simplified Design
The new MJML template option also offers a new, simplified email design which also supports dark mode if enabled on a users device. Because of the addition of dark mode support, the email design options have been deprecated in order to provide a more consistent experience.
This template also has an option for including the site name in the header, along with the newsletter name. You can see an example of this below:

Accessing MJML Template Output

When previewing the newsletter, choose the EMIL MJML option, then click the Preview email button. There's also an option to preview how it appears in dark mode.
