Secondary Menu


Secondary Links are a series of small links that appear above and to the right of the main navigation bar or nested within the main navigation bar. Use the secondary menu as landing pages for your different audiences, or configure them as buttons that go off-site.
Populate the Secondary Menu
- Using the Structure menu dropdown, select Menus.
- Select Secondary Menu.
- Click the Add link button.
- Add a Menu link title.
- Add a Link.
- If existing content: Start typing the title of a piece of content to select it. You can also enter an internal path such as /about.
- If URL: Type in the full URL, such as https://www.colorado.edu.
- If Homepage: Enter <front> to link to the homepage.
- Confirm the Parent Link. The default is the Secondary Menu.
- Click Save.

Adjust the Appearance of the Secondary Menu
By default the Secondary Menu links appear as small links above the main navigation bar. You may make the links appear as buttons within the main navigation bar and further configure the link color.
- Using the Configuration Menu dropdown, select CU Boulder site settings.
- Select Appearance from the list of options.
- Scroll down to the Secondary Menu section.
- Set options: The secondary menu of this site can be populated with secondary or action links and displayed inline with or above the main navigation.
- Position of the secondary menu:
- Inline with the main navigation or
- above the main navigation
- Display links in the secondary menu as buttons:
- Default: None (text only) or
- Select blue, gold, or gray buttons if desired.
- Position of the secondary menu:
- Click Save configuration.
