Add Content

Content is organized on your site under the Content Menu link. In addition to page templates, there is also a media library to help you upload and track your media usage.

The Content Admin Page has four tabs:

Content Page Templates

  1. Using the admin menu: select Content > Add Content.
  2. Choose the content page template you would like to use.

Web Express Content Pages

In addition to the open ended Basic Page. We have special templates to help you easily edit and maintain the content on your site. These templates provides a way for web managers to fill out fields and end up with attractively designed pages.

  1. Basic Page: The Basic page is the most commonly used type of content. It’s easy to add to the navigation structure and has quite a few features for displaying photos, media and links.
  2. FAQ Page: Groups of questions and answers as accordions or expandable tabs set in a page format.
  3. Collection Item Page: A content page to be used in the collection grid block.
  4. Forms: The Form Page makes it easy to create forms. You can create sophisticated forms without the need for any coding.
  5. Class Note: Creates an Alumni note or update page that is pulled into the Class Note List Page.
  6. Class Note List Page: A page with filtering options so visitors may filter the classnotes by year and sort by year or date posted.
  7. Article: Content type for displaying time-sensitive information like news, announcements or blog posts.
  8. Article List Page: The Article List Page pulls together all articles with the same categories and/or tags and aggregates them on a page.
  9. Newsletter: Use news pages for content you wish to send out as emails.
  10. Issue: An Issue page displays a collection of articles that are associated with your publication.
  11. Issue Archive: Creates a page that displays the covers of all the Issues on the site, with a linked title to each issue.
  12. Person: Use the person page type to create individual staff pages with contact and biographical information.
  13. People List Page: The People List Page lists people that you've created using the Person content type. Individuals are displayed alphabetically and can be grouped and filtered.

Note: To add a Form to your site, use the Structure menu dropdown, select Webforms.

Blocks

The Blocks admin page lists the reusable blocks on your site.

Click Add content block to add additional reusable blocks to your site.

Files

The Files admin page displays all media on the site; documents, images, and video.

The Name and Sort By field allows you to search for specific media items in the library or apply various filters to the available items.

Media

The Media library is a media management tool that enables you to find media that exists within your Drupal site and to add new media items. It allows you to search, sort, and import a variety of media types with an easy-to-use interface.

The media types that are usually available to import are as follows: 

  • File: txt, doc, docx, pdf,  
  • Image: png, gif, jpg, jpeg 
  • Video File: can be imported from YouTube or Vimeo 

Accessing the Media Library

You can access the media library two ways: 

  1. Using the admin menu: select Content > Media > Add media 
  2. Clicking the "Insert from media library" button, indicated by the Media Library icon in the content editor. (The icon resembles a photograph connected to a musical note).
